Q. Our school already has a website so why should we switch to a SchoolSite?

Many school websites are not meeting their potential to improve communication in the school community and most importantly save significant sums of money for the school! Here are some typical issues with school websites:

  • Website is not updated frequently enough – if someone in your school community designs a website using a SiteBuilder or creates regular HTML webpages then only THAT PERSON generally has the access and skills to update the website. Q. Do I need to know about HTML to update my SchoolSite?

Absolutely not! SchoolSites use a very simple interface that allows you manage your website as easily as you would update a Word document. See the screenshot below for an example of the screen where you can add your web content and format it using familiar word processing tools.

Q. What will the website address for my new SchoolSite be?

When you set up your SchoolSite your web address will be yourschool.schoolsites.ie and you can use this as your school web address. Optionally, you can add your own domain to your SchoolSite so for example yourschool.ie will be your web address. If you already have a domain it is very easy to ‘point’ it to your new SchoolSite.
