Default Pages

Every SchoolSite comes with many pages and news topics already setup to help you get started. See primary.schoolsites.ie for an example of the default pages that you get with your SchoolSite. Below is an example of the navigation menu that your SchoolSite will have as standard.

Pages - the standard pages that we include are:

  • Homepage
  • News – containing the latest school news items
  • School Information with sub-pages About Our School, Booklists, Calendar, Enrolment. (you can add more)
  • Policies and sub-pages for the most common policies such as Admissions Policy. (you can add more)
  • Staff – page about the school staff
  • Parents – information for parents, PTA / PA / Parents Council etc.
  • Students – about the students, Students Coucil or resources for students.
  • Contact -page for school contact info and a Google Map if you wish to add one.

News Topics – every school will want to set up their own news topics but we setup a few basic ones to get you started. These news topics are:

  • Class News – rundown of news from each class.
  • General – anything general really!
  • Alerts – medical alerts, Swine Flu, closures, anything urgent.
  • Events – social and fundraising events.
  • Featured – the most recent Featured news item appears on your homepage.
  • Uncategorised – if you forget to add a category to your post / news it will be published in Uncategorised. You can go back into your Dashboard and assign your post a category at any time.
